Parking Plaza Update

August 11, 2010

On Tuesday, August 10, representatives from our church shared our plans for the planned development of the "West Block" with the City of University Park's Planning and Zoning Commission.  They have requested that we provide more information at their next meeting on September 14.  If you would like to see the proceedings online, please visit the UP website.  Please continue to pray for all parties involved in this project as we move Forward by Faith

First Fruits

Biblical stewardship includes giving first fruits to God. To honor the Lord, roughly 10 percent of the total Forward by Faith pledges were allocated to directly benefit outside ministries and ministry partners, both locally and abroad. Roughly $700,000 have been distributed to “Bless the World,” adhering to one of our Core Four practices that help fulfill our mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ and to make a difference in the world.

Locally, your generosity is making an impact through HPPC's Urban Outreach. The West Dallas community is celebrating the completion and grand opening of a new baseball field at the Mercy Street Sports Complex. And many other urban ministries have received help as well.

Abroad, World Missions has partnered with various ministries to expand the Kingdom. The ever growing spiritual needs of the people of Bolivia will be met with the construction of a new church. Outreach Foundation has received funds to begin construction of two new churches in Maasai, Kenya this summer. First Baptist Church of Ciego, Cuba will now be able to expand their overcrowded central facility and refurbish several home churches. To bless the village of Njuthine, Kenya, a 12.83-mile irrigation pipeline will be completed this summer, $126,000 under budget and five years ahead of schedule.
