Jam Committee 2008-2009
JAM Committee
For those who want a more intense role in JAM, they should consider
serving on the JAM committee. Each committee person performs different
tasks and serves as a voting member on the inner workings of JAM. For
more information, look at the list below.

• Moderator(s) –
a. Plans and executes monthly committee meetings
b. Attends monthly Youth Committee meetings as JAM’s advocates
c. Keeps JAM running and JAM staff on track
• Secretary – [2 hours every Sunday morning, 3 hours monthly taking and preparing committee meeting notes]
a. Updates (before the school year starts) and maintains
notebooks for each of the small groups' attendance and contact information
b. Arrives by 9:00 on Sunday mornings to set-up sign-in
sheets, get offering plates, and unlock classroom doors, turn in
weekly attendance
c. Checks Small Group Leader attendance and combine groups if necessary
d. Attends and takes minutes at JAM Committee meetings, type
up and distribute to staffers and moderators (2nd Monday of each month at noon)
• Donut Coordinator [1 hour a week]
a. Contacting Mustang Donuts or other provider to make (and occasionally change) standing order arrangements.
b. Scheduling volunteers to sponsor donuts each week for the school year
c. Keeps Donut Dude/Diva board current
d. Attends JAM committee meetings (2nd Monday of each month at noon)
• Special Events Coordinators [3 hours before each event – about 12 events]
a. Planning and coordinating, with JAM staff, off-site events
b. Booking event sites, getting snacks, and recruiting chaperones
c. Taking RSVPs and collecting money at event
d. Attends JAM committee meetings (2nd Monday of each month at noon)
• Mother/Daughter Retreat Coordinators [time intensive only before event]
a. Planning, promoting and implementing a memorable weekend away with mothers/daughters
b. Attends JAM committee meetings (2nd Monday of each month at noon)
• Father/Son Retreat Coordinators [time intensive only before event]
a. Planning, promoting and implementing a memorable weekend away with fathers/sons
b. Attends JAM committee meetings (2nd Monday of each month at noon)
• Dorcas Coordinators [1 hour a week emailing]
a. Coordinating and scheduling volunteer families to adopt JAM staff for each week of the year
b. Email reminder to sponsoring families each week
c. Attends JAM committee meetings (2nd Monday of each month at noon)
• Scripture Memory Coordinator [1 hour a week]
a. Developing a system for disseminating verses to kids and recording those who memorize
b. Keeping up with small group binders to make sure Scripture Memory is being done
c. Gathering the rewards for scripture memory
d. Planning a year-end lake day for students who have perfect memorization records
e. Attends JAM committee meetings (2nd Monday of each month at noon)
• Wednesday Night Food Coordinator [3 hours a week, every Wednesday night]
a. Ordering food for Wednesday night bible study attendees
b. Handling RSVP’s for Wednesday nights
c. Coordinating volunteers to pick-up and deliver food to Elliot Hall
d. Collecting money from the Jammers and filling out accounting sheets
e. Attends JAM committee meetings (2nd Monday of each month at noon)
• Outreach & Missions Coordinator [3 hours a semester generating lists, flexible helping run Xtreme Serve]
a. Assisting Small Group Leaders by generating a list of
outreach options for both Fall and Spring for small group outreach
b. Serving on Xtreme Serve committee
c. Attends JAM committee meetings (2nd Monday of each month at noon)
• Publicity Coordinator [2 hours per event, 1 hour/month updating boards]
a. Taking pictures at all JAM events (or finding someone to do this)b. Putting together bulletin boards (and changing when needed)
c. Preparing and inserting articles/photos to the HPPC Weekly promoting JAM
d. Attends JAM committee meetings (2nd Monday of each month at noon)]
