College is a pivotal moment in a person’s life where beliefs are questioned and cemented. So at HPPC we are committed to ministering to and nurturing college students down the road at SMU, in Dallas, and college students who return home on summer and holiday breaks.
The Den
The Den is a community where all college-aged young adults are welcome to discover and grow in their faith. We do this through weekly Sunday night dinners, Bible studies, social events, mission trips, and mentoring students during this crucial transitional stage of life. Our hope and vision is that students would find The Den as a place to grow into lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ.
On Sunday nights we gather for The Den, our weekly dinner and Bible study. We meet on Sundays from 5:30-7 pm at the HPPC College House (3833 McFarlin Blvd, Dallas), which is located across the street from HPPC.
Away Student Ministry
We have many students that have grown up at HPPC and have left Dallas to attend college. Life away from home is wonderful and chaotic! Our prayer is that you can remain connected to HPPC while you are away. We are always here for you when you need us, but we hope and pray that you are engaging your campus with the life-transforming power of Christ. We've compiled resources here for you and your parents while you are off at college. You will also find a list of regular activities that we provide for you when you are back in Dallas over the holidays and summer:

College Christmas Party - every year at Rev. Dr. Ron & Anne Scates' home
- Summer Sunday AM Bible Study - held at the college house at 9:30 a.m.
- Summer The Den Dinner & Bible Study – Sunday nights at 5:30 p.m.
- Summer gatherings (Rangers Game, Top Golf, etc.)
- Summer Mission Trip - we try to serve the world with one of HPPC's World Mission partners
For Parents of Away College Students
We are here to be a trusted resource for you while your students are away at school. Here is where you can get directly involved in ministry to your students and the local Dallas outreach ministry:

College Parent Gatherings – be encouraged by other parents and learn how to help your child through this season of life
- College Committee - get involved in helping serve our college student ministry
- The Den Volunteer - we need cooks, servers,
hosts, and donations to help provide meals for our weekly gathering, The Den,
on Sunday nights.
Many of our events happen at the College House (3833 McFarlin Blvd, Dallas). If you ever need transportation for any events or for worship at one of HPPC's Sunday morning services, please email Jonathan Hicks.
