Global Day of Prayer at Highland Park Presbyterian Church

Day 8, Thursday, May 24

Suffering with power for
THE GLORY OF JESUS

For the faithful courage of His people
Concerning: persecution, injustice, terrorism

For the Glory of Christ

  • That those who face opposition because they serve Christ will respond with the gentle, courageous character of Jesus (Acts 4:13).
  • For Christians who suffer for Christ’s name to be strong in joy and faith.
  • For God to glorify Himself by His great deeds in places where He is rejected (Acts 4:21).

For the Blessing of the Nations

  • For our leaders and governments to be blessed.
  • That government leaders who oppose Christ (Acts 4:25-27) would be blessed with wisdom so as not to be found “fighting against God” (Acts 5:39).

Pray for our HPPC missionaries serving in Asia:

  • Andrew & Joyce; Kevin & Laurie; Andy Smith; Ben & Linda; Scott & Melanie Smith; Al & Linda Bridges;
  • Pray for our partnership with the Krygystan people and that the people of that region will come to know Christ.
  • O Holy One Who Feeds Us - Thank you for this day and every day – gifts from You.  Bless those who grow food, those who harvest it, those who prepare it, those who serve it, those who share it, those who eat it.   The serving, the sharing, the eating – gifts from You.   Bless those who hunger and thirst for Justice. In a world of injustice, nurture in us the commitment to work for shelter, for food, for education, for health, for safety, for all of God’s people.   Bless each volunteer who works to lift the burdens of being unsheltered, at risk and hungry.  Be with each of them, this day and every day.   O Holy One Who Feeds us, thank you for this meal and every meal – gifts from You.

Transformation Dallas is a momentous Christ-centered series of events focused on prayer, repentance, blessing and celebration, occurring May – August. It is built around global and national prayer movements, a region-wide celebration, and city-wide transformational projects.
