jetSTREAM Confirmation Class
Parents of 7th & 8th graders are invited to register their child for the Confirmation Class, the course that offers the opportunity to become a member of HPPC. Classes are taught by Dr. Marshall Zieman, with the aid of several parents, and our youth staff. The course is held on Sunday mornings from 10:45 – 12:00 and lasts for about 12 weeks. It is offered in both a Fall and Spring session. At the conclusion of the course the class is accepted into membership at HPPC during the 11:00 worship service in the sanctuary.
The course includes homework, service hours, Bible memory, quizzes, and a written mid-term. The course stresses personal faith in Jesus Christ and consists of: Christian beliefs, Presbyterian distinctives, church history, and information and history about HPPC. Students also meet regularly with an adult sponsor (an officer of HPPC whom you select) and complete daily workbook assignments that are returned to class each Sunday and discussed.
A quick lunch and Introductory Meeting is held before each session. Students and parents are required to attend, as notebooks are handed out and homework begins that day.
