Friday Fellowship
Provides a weekly gathering of senior adults for interest groups (such as chair exercises, Bridge, videos, needlework, classes in Conversational Spanish, Telling Our Story, Computer skills, Bridge playing, etc.) and programs which are educational, informative, or inspirational. Nutritious lunches are also served.
Senior Adult Travel
Provides refreshing friendship and develops community for senior adults while visiting interesting, educational, or inspiring places. For many it is the only opportunity they have to visit museums, exhibits, landmarks, dramas, etc. Day trips are planned as well as more extensive travel that lasts several days.
Homebound Visitation
Determines who our homebound members are and provides teams of visitors who visit several times a year to bring love and cheer and news about the church. Twice each year these visitors deliver flowers to the homebound, usually poinsettias at Christmas and mums at Easter. Training is provided for visitors, and reports are received and compiled from them.
Home Communion
Enlists, trains and oversees a corps of Reserve Elders who are trained and commissioned to lead informal worship and administer the Sacrament of Holy Communion in the residences of homebound members.
Columbarium
Assists members with spiritual and physical preparations for the close of life, and provides a consecrated final abode for the earthly remains of those whose lives have been nurtured in faith in this holy place.
Kaleo Lodge Retreats
Holds 3-day retreats each Spring and each Fall at Kaleo Lodge, near Mineola, for worship, Bible study, fellowship, group activities, and relaxation.
Faith Stories for the Archives
Secures and records interviews with long-time members and leaders in our Church, preserving their faith stories for their own enjoyment, for archival preservation, and for the edification of other segments of our church.
Parking Shuttle Service
Provides a safe area for parking and subsequent transportation to and from the campus for seniors, mobility impaired, and families with small children.
Driver Safety Class
AARP Safe Driving Class for persons 55 and older is offered three times each year. Purpose is to remind participants about safe driving habits and to provide a 10% reduction in auto insurance.
