Dream Center

They provide 10 after school programs per week for "at risk" children in poverty-ridden neighborhoods, mostly government housing developments. A snack is given to each child as well as groceries to the adults. A teen mentoring program includes the Child Partnership Program, as well as one-on- one mentoring by staff and volunteers A Restoration Program, which partners with DISD, gives high school dropouts and/or adjudicated youth an opportunity to go back to school through the DISD Reconnection Program. They are housed at the DDC apartments, go to school half a day and work with DDC the rest of the day. They are given adult supervision and guidance until they graduate from high school and are enrolled in college.
