GUIDELINES FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS
The following guidelines have been approved by the Worship and Work Council of the Session of Highland Park Presbyterian Church, and must be observed by photographers doing weddings in this church.
NO photographs may be taken in the sanctuary or Wynne Chapel, during the processional, the ceremony or the recessional. Time exposures from the balcony in the sanctuary or from behind the screen in Wynne Chapel are allowed. Flash photographs may be taken in the narthex as the wedding party exits.
As the wedding guests begin to arrive, about thirty to forty minutes prior to the wedding, all photography must be finished and equipment removed from the sanctuary (or chapel) area thirty minutes before the wedding. Photographs may continue to be taken in the Bride’s Room and narthex before the wedding, and again in the sanctuary after the wedding, if desired. Photographs may be taken outside, or at other places within the immediate sanctuary or Wynne Chapel areas. In order that the bride not be seen by the arriving guests, she must be back in the Bride’s room 40 minutes before the wedding. The groom, parents and all attendants must be back in the narthex, no later than 20 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony.
The bride and groom should inform immediate family members and friends that the use of cameras is appropriate before and after, but not during the wedding ceremony.
If you choose a photographer that is not on our approved list, then the Guidelines sheet must be signed by your photographer, showing that he/she has read it and agrees to abide by our rules, and returned to the wedding coordinator at least one month before the wedding.
TAPING THE WEDDING CEREMONY
The wedding ceremony may be video taped by making arrangements with the Wedding Coordinator. An outside video person may be used in the sanctuary, as long as the policy guidelines are followed.
