Bonton is a neighborhood in South Dallas that is a community considered in a “food desert” by USDA standards (the nearest grocery store is roughly 3 miles away.) They have the highest rate of diabetes and cardiovascular disease in the city and county of Dallas. Bonton Farms is an agricultural intervention developed to restore health, create jobs, and ignite hope in South Dallas while sharing the love of Christ and engaging them in the ministry of reconciliation.
Women's Service Day. On October 29, 2016, the Women's Ministry of Highland Park Pres is gathering in Bonton, and turning their attention away from farmwork and torwards ministiring to families in the neighboring rec center.
