Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere with 80 percent of the population living on less than a $1 a day. Long before the devastating 7.0 earthquake in January 2010, the Caribbean nation of 10 million has struggled to feed and shelter its expanding population because of corrupt government and slavery, desperate poverty and disease.
Highland Park Pres first began its involvement with Haiti Outreach Ministries (HOM) in the wake of the earthquake through the recommendation of the Outreach Foundation of how best to deploy funds contributed by our members for relief. Our Project Haiti partnership has continued to grow over the years with regular mission trips and donations.
You can have a major part in changing the lives of the people in Haiti by taking part in this partnership in one of four ways:
Pray for a spiritual awakening among the people of Haiti as well as a commitment to make educating their children a priority in an effort to combat the devastating poverty and corruption.
HOM's current five year expansion plan includes finishing the high school building, expanding their elementary building spaces, develop vocational training, expansion of church facilities, and developing a pastoral training center. By making a donation to the Haiti Designated Giving Opportunity, you are helping to complete the construction on the high school that will provide a quality Christian education to 150 students a year.
Give to Haiti
Sponsor a child for as low as $30 a month. Your support will cover school fees, food, books, uniforms, and everything else a child needs to receive a good education and begin to break the cycle of poverty and change their future.
Sponsor a Child

Our Project Haiti partnership has continued to grow over the years, as we seek to meet the Haitian people’s physical and spiritual needs in these four ways: Pray, Give, Sponsor, Go. This trip will be led by Maddie Ziegler, HP Pres member, and will focus on running a sports camp in the community and doing construction.
