International Friendship Program
Make a profound impact on an international student's life without ever leaving Dallas! The International Friendship Program (IFP) in partnership with SMU and Highland Park Presbyterian Church, provides a unique opportunity for international students to learn about American culture. By simply opening your home and your heart, these students are able to witness the love of Christ.
Be A Partner
Being an International Friendship Partner is a deeply rewarding experience. Not only is this an opportunity to make a new friend, but you also have the opportunity to share your life and have a cross-cultural experience without ever leaving home! All it takes is to be someone to be open to learning about other cultures and willing to share your American culture.
Our goal is for you to connect with your student about every 4-6 weeks. This can be grabbing a cup of coffee, having them over for dinner, attending an IFP event with them, or whatever else fits into your lifestyle. It’s that easy! This is truly an excellent opportunity to build goodwill between the U.S. and other countries…one friendship at a time!
Apply by filling out the form at the bottom of this page.
If you don’t feel you can commit to becoming a partner but still want to be involved, we would still love to have you join us for any of the group opportunities. These events help us to show our love and hospitalityto our student neighbors. If you are unable to become a partner to a specific student, please consider coming to one of these events:
