Justice Initiative

Today there are more slaves in the world than at any other time in history. Twenty-seven million men, women and children have been stripped of their inherent rights as human beings. Human trafficking, a form of modern day slavery, occurs when oppressors use force, fraud or coercion to control other people for the purpose of providing labor services against their will or without pay, or for engaging in commercial sex. Most of the time it doesn’t involve chains or locks, yet they are treated like property with no freedom.

As Christians, we serve a God of justice, who calls us to be people of justice. He commands us in Micah 6:8 to act justly, love mercy and to walk humbly with Him. In order to walk with God, we must pursue justice out of merciful love and compassion, helping those who are powerless to help themselves.

Freedom Sunday

Sunday, Sept. 25

Churches across the United States are coming together for one day to stand together to make a statement that we must work together in the fight against Modern Day Slavery.  There are an estimated 45 million people that are being held captive in various forms of slavery.

See how you can help fight slavery.
